LB Rommel Mageo returning to starting lineup as Ole Miss shakes up defense

With three straight losses and bowl hopes dwindling quickly, Ole Miss is continuing its shakeup of a disappointing defense.

Tuesday’s open practice revealed even more changes for the Rebels.

The most significant: Rommel Mageo, a graduate transfer from Oregon State who hadn’t started since Sept. 10 against Wofford, has moved back into the first team at middle linebacker.

Mageo, who led Oregon State with 87 tackles last year, has made only 16 this season for the Rebels.

Other positions are also in flux.

“Obviously it tells you we’re searching,” defensive coordinator Dave Wommack told reporters.
