Lost amid the deserved hoopla surrounding Shea Patterson’s first college appearance is that defensive adjustments by the coaching staff and players helped Ole Miss upset Texas A&M.

Yep, the defense came through.

Texas A&M was limited to just 129 rushing yards, the second-lowest rushing output against the Rebels this season. It was the first time this season Ole Miss held an SEC foe to fewer than 200 rushing yards.

Ole Miss still surrendered two rushing TDs, increasing the season total to 24, but the Aggies managed just 3.79 yards per carry — the lowest average by a Rebels foe this season.
