Hugh Freeze already had been through one loss to Memphis. So after his Rebels put away the Tigers on Saturday, it was sigh-of-relief time for the Ole Miss coach.
“I’m really happy to get this one over with,” Freeze said. “They are a very dangerous football team, and they are going to win a lot of football games.”
Relief was the major emotion for Freeze after Saturday’s 48-28 victory against Memphis, which lifted the Rebels back above .500 and avoided another setback against a team that stunned them last season.
The Rebels gained more than 600 yards of total offense, and it wasn’t just about Chad Kelly’s arm.
