Few expected Ole Miss true freshman Shea Patterson to start against Texas A&M. Once he did, though, coach Hugh Freeze had little doubt what would happen.
Patterson’s sensational college debut in Saturday’s 29-28 upset of over No. 8 Texas A&M at Kyle Field was the kind of display Freeze expected.
“I have kind of always known he’s had that ‘it’ factor,” Freeze said. “I leave very few high school games thinking the kid is a no-brainer. We obviously have to develop them. But I got one opportunity to watch him play, and I left that game with a man crush on him.
