Hugh Freeze, Ole Miss are ready to get on the field

OXFORD, Miss. – It is 7:30 a.m. on an overcast Monday and the construction workers at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium already are at warp speed.

Ole Miss’ home opener with Wofford is less than a month away. Between now and September 10, the final steps in more than $54 million in stadium improvements need to be completed – or at least be close enough to completed in order to handle a fan base that has been waiting to get started since the Rebels beat Oklahoma State in the Sugar Bowl on January 1.

And did we mention that a week later, on September 17, defending national champion Alabama arrives in Oxford?
