There are a number of adjectives you could use to describe the Ole Miss football program the past few months. “Stable” would not be one of them; “reeling,” though, would be an apt description for a program that just lost its coach and faces NCAA sanctions.
As the Rebels do their best to prepare for their September 2 season-opener against South Alabama, one person has been exactly what the program needs both on and off the field. That’s interim coach Matt Luke. The only person on the previous staff who remains employed at Ole Miss and is not mentioned in the NCAA Notice of Allegations — the original nor the amended version — is Luke.
