An attorney for former Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt says the school is trying to avoid a full disclosure of all of Hugh Freeze’s phone records during his tenure as Rebels coach.
Thomas Mars, who is representing Nutt in his lawsuit against Ole Miss, its athletic foundation and board of trustees, sent a letter to the Ole Miss general counsel Friday that challenged the school’s estimated cost of $25,100 in legal fees needed to fulfill the request.
“From the very outset, the University has found all kinds of creative and illegitimate reasons to delay producing documents, redact documents without legal justification,” Mars wrote in the letter obtained by USA TODAY.
