It’s hard to get good stuff out of Ole Miss wide receivers coach Grant Heard, but the beat writer group was fairly successful with that Tuesday afternoon.
Laquon Treadwell took pride in his blocking, which was somewhat unusual for wide receivers. Part of yesterday’s discussion was about blocking among receivers moving forward.
Usually you’ll hear all coaches stress the importance of blocking at all times. Blocking by the skill guys can be a Kumbaya moment. Of course you’ve got to get in the way of defenders to help any play be successful, but running backs and receivers blocking also lets the skill guys show they are good teammates for the offensive linemen who don’t get the yards and touchdowns and therefore often do not get the same attention.
