Former Ole Miss broadcast legend Stan Sandroni opened career door for ‘Today’ co-host

During football season, everyone remembers events that take them back to yesteryear. For Ole Miss fans, many of those center on the radio broadcasts of Rebels football and Stan Sandroni on the sideline.

Just short of three years ago, Sandroni died of a heart attack at age 64 and left Ole Miss fans with the memories of him patrolling the sidelines, providing updates on weather and injuries. What many may not know: Sandroni, who was a native of Shaw, Miss.
