BATON ROUGE, La. – Sometimes the storylines leading up to a game can seem so easy to latch onto. It’s the tantalizing “low-hanging fruit effect.”
So the notion of Ed Orgeron coaching against an Ole Miss program that fired him after three miserable seasons as the Rebels’ coach from 2005-07 has been a popular theme and figures to be during the ESPN broadcast Saturday night.
Here’s the thing, though: If Orgeron gets too hung up on that – or Hugh Freeze from the other side, for that matter – it’s bound to be more detriment that motivation.
