D’Vaughn Pennamon earns Ole Miss’ No. 2 running back job

OXFORD, Miss. – Jordan Wilkins had long established himself as the No. 1 running back.

The race throughout camp for Ole Miss was for first runner-up. That title goes to D’Vaughn Pennamon.

When the Rebels take on South Alabama Saturday night in their season opener, Pennamon, a four-star signee in the 2016 class, will be the first to spell Wilkins. His place on the depth chart was announced Monday.

“Pennamon has had a really, really good camp,” coach Matt Luke said. “When Jordan was out and in both scrimmages he stepped up his game and did a good job.
