Hugh Freeze raved about early enrollee Myles Hartsfield on Signing Day.
That hasn’t changed with spring drills, and safeties coach Corey Batoon has also had high praise for Hartsfield.
That’s good news since Batoon has two openings on the back end as Ole Miss works to replace free safety Trae Elston and strong safety (Rover) Mike Hilton.
The biggest take-away from a short conversation with Batoon yesterday was that Hartsfield “could play all five positions back there.”
That’s what Hilton did, and that’s why Hilton is the biggest loss in the secondary. The Rebels will miss Elston, an extremely experienced and physical player, but Hilton not only played every position in the secondary over the course of his career, he played every position last season.
