Chad Kelly needs to play better if Ole Miss is to beat LSU

Saturday night in Baton Rouge means another chance for Ole Miss quarterback Chad Kelly to get the Rebels’ season headed back in the right direction.

On the surface, not much seems wrong with Kelly in 2016. He’s 133-of-213 for 1,849 yards, with 14 touchdowns and five interceptions.

Those aren’t bad numbers. But they also weren’t what many SEC fans expected before the season, when Kelly was viewed as head and shoulders ahead of the rest of the conference’s quarterback pack. Instead, he’s been good, but not extraordinary — and the Rebels have been competitive, but not title contenders.
