It was a one-and-done affair for the Ole Miss baseball team after Alabama defeated them 6-1 in the first round of the Southeastern Conference tournament at the Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in Hoover, Alabama Tuesday morning.
An offense stymied by Alabama starter Geoffrey Bramblett and poor outing by the Ole Miss bullpen was their undoing after a solid start by Scott Weathersby.
Weathersby gave Ole Miss (30-26) six solid innings of work, though he began to lose his edge a third time through the Alabama line up. The right hander gave up three runs on seven hits, walking two and striking out three Crimson Tide batters.
