Former Ole Miss quarterback legend Archie Manning will receive the latest honor of his football career in the middle of his old home field.
Manning will be recognized as the National Football Foundation’s 2016 recipient Gold Medal recipient on the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium field during Saturday’s game between Ole Miss and Auburn, the school announced Wednesday.
The ceremony will take place at an unspecified point during the game.
Manning also will be officially during the 59th NFF Annual Awards Dinner Dec. 6 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City.
Per the NFF, the Gold Medal recognizes “an outstanding American who has demonstrated integrity and honesty; achieved significant career success; and has reflected the basic values of those who have excelled in amateur sport, particularly football.
