Ole Miss and Memphis meet today at 3 at Swayze Field, a start time moved to the afternoon because of 6 p.m. basketball.
It will be the second start for freshman right-hander James McArthur. When we talk about the increased pitching depth for Ole Miss, it’s these mid-week games in which it will show up or not show up.
McArthur, a power right-hander, shined in off-season work, so much so that he was in the mix for a weekend starter’s role for a while. He broke a bone in his foot in mid-December and had to work through the recovery process.
