Ole Miss likely finished off its 2016 recruiting class Thursday when junior college defensive lineman Josiah Coatney chose the Rebels over Alabama.
Coatney (6 feet 5, 265 pounds), a four-star recruit from Holmes CC, is expected to enroll at Ole Miss later this month; he has three years’ eligibility remaining and can play this fall.
Coatney, originally from Douglasville, Ga., visited Alabama, Florida, Ole Miss and Texas A&M in April. He was a two-star recruit out of high school in the 2014 signing class.
Coatney played both end and tackle in junior college; he is an effective run stopper and has an upside as an inside pass rusher.
