Fans of the EA NHL games (or failing that, people who have played the games) are well aware of the various glitches across its yearly iterations. For players like me, it was a way to make up for a lack of anything resembling actual skill with the game. One part of the game that I did bother to develop some talent for was the fighting. While not a critical skill for winning games, any game against friends was almost guaranteed to include at least one donnybrook. One of the easiest ways to instigate a fight was to attempt a shot on goal after the referee blew his whistle.
