TAMPA, Fla. -- The Wild's first shootout game of the season didn't end much better than many of their overtime games.
The Wild lost 3-2 Saturday to the Tampa Bay Lightning, taking a shootout defeat after scoring a late tying goal.
The Wild mixed up their lines more Saturday than any other game this season, and for 50 minutes it produced little.
But pressing late, the Wild finally started controlling play, culminating in Jared Spurgeon's overtime-forcing goal with 2 minutes, 49 seconds remaining.
The only reason the Wild remained within striking distance was because of goalie Devan Dubnyk, who made 28 saves.
