As the Minnesota Wild consoled each other after their 4-3 overtime loss to the Vancouver Canucks, ending their season and their chance to play their way into the Stanley Cup playoffs, one had to believe that the only permanent captain the team has ever had was overcome with uncertainty and emotion.
