Minnesota’s 3-on-3 Overtime deficiencies are costing them, here’s how to fix it

After yet again another overtime loss (this time to the New York Islanders) the Wild dropped to 2-5 in games that have been decided in the OT session. This has been a problem for Minnesota ever since the 3-on-3 overtime format was implemented by the league to start the 2015-2016 season, having an overall record of 11-28 in 3-on-3 in throughout the 3 34 seasons. That isn’t nearly good enough, especially for a Wild team this season that needs points badly, if they had only won 2 or 3 of those 5 OT losses this season they would be in a playoff spot and would’ve made it a heck of a lot easier for them to get into the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the 7th consecutive season.
