ST. LOUIS -- Winnipeg Jets coach Paul Maurice, whose team was swept in its first-round playoff series, praised Wild coach Mike Yeo in his postseason news conference Friday.
Maurice spoke about building on the Jets' playoff appearance this season and battling adversity.
The veteran coach used the Wild's season as an example.
"It's why in my mind Mike Yeo should be a front-runner for coach of the year," Maurice said. "Because for two months, aside from the mumps and all the injuries he had, that's what you were reading out of there -- 'Hey, we made the playoffs last year, we're better than this, this is a disgrace, this is a crime, it's unacceptable' -- that is an animal to deal with that's very hard to contain.
