Alexander Mattison was expected to seamlessly fill in for Dalvin Cook when he returned as Minnesota’s starter. Unfortunately, that plan never worked, and it was basically a failure to launch. Without ever generating enough production to hold down the role, he was overtaken twice during the season and ultimately sent packing this offseason.
