On Sunday, the Minnesota Vikings will wrap up their 2019 regular season against the Chicago Bears inside U.S. Bank Stadium.
This matchup did have the potential to be a game that decided this year’s NFC North champion. But thanks to their disappointing loss to the Green Bay Packers last week, the Vikings are no longer in the hunt for the division and Sunday’s result against the Bears will have no impact on Minnesota’s seed in this season’s playoffs.
Since the Vikings know they will enter the 2019 postseason as the No. 6 seed in the NFC and nothing in Week 17 can change this, the team is reportedly going to treat Sunday’s matchup against Chicago like a bye week for some of their top players.
