EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- The Minnesota Vikings will be without Sharrif Floyd on Sunday in Detroit, as the defensive tackle will miss his first game of the season with the knee and ankle injuries that kept him out all week.
Floyd was particularly disruptive last week against the Kansas City Chiefs, splitting a sack with Danielle Hunter and spending much of the day in the backfield as the Chiefs mustered just 57 yards on 18 carries. With Floyd out, Tom Johnson figures to start at three-technique tackle, and the Vikings might have to move quickly to get recent addition Kenrick Ellis involved at both defensive tackle spots.
