MINNEAPOLIS -- When the NFL competition committee considers 19 possible rule changes this week at the owners' meetings in Boca Raton, Florida, it will weigh a proposal from the Minnesota Vikings that would give coaches more freedom to challenge calls.
The Vikings want the NFL to change its replay system and allow coaches an automatic third challenge in each game. The current system requires teams to win their first two challenges in a game before they get a third.
As the league assembled on Sunday night in South Florida, early indications were the Vikings' proposal would have a tough time being approved.
