Vikings: Phil Loadholt carted off after serious leg injury

Vikings right tackle Phil Loadholt was carted off the field with an apparent right leg injury the veteran starter suffered on just the second snap of Saturday night's exhibition game against Tampa Bay.

Loadholt limped badly to the bench and was visibly upset as team medical staff tended to him. He had a towel over his head as he was carted to the locker room at TCF Bank Stadium, indications of a potentially serious knee or foot injury.

Sideline reporter Ben Leber said on the Fox-9 broadcast that Loadholt had tears in his eyes as teammates Everson Griffen and Babatunde Aiyegbusi helped him to the cart, adding Loadholt "knows it's something not good.
