The Minnesota Vikings lost their first game of the season, 19-15, to the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon. Fans will have their pick on who to blame for the defeat, but in the eyes of many, the biggest culprit may be Kevin O’Connell.
O’Connell’s offense sputtered again on Sunday, managing just 266 yards and being limited to 50 plays with constant short drives. His hand-picked quarterback, Kyler Murray, had another erratic performance, completing 17-of-29 passes for 210 yards, two touchdowns and a pair of interceptions.
Sunday’s loss didn’t doom the Vikings as they’re still 6-1 and on top of the NFC North standings.
