Shortly after watching his offense put together one of the most pitiful passing performances in the history of the franchise in Thursday's win over the Detroit Lions, Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell was asked about the status of second-year quarterback J.J. McCarthy.
The Vikings were without McCarthy for the Lions game because of a hand injury he suffered in Week 16, and after the Christmas Day matchup, O'Connell shared what needs to happen during the next few days in order for the young quarterback to return to the field for Minnesota's regular-season final against the Green Bay Packers in less than two weeks.
