Vikings Expand Black History Month Content with Unique High School Course

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Minnesota Vikings are continuing their “Celebrate Perseverance” content series in observance of Black History Month for a third straight year, beginning today.

The Vikings launched the series in February 2015 and incorporated videos, photos and written stories to highlight sacrifices, courage and commitment toward progress.

Many Vikings Legends overcame obstacles during their youth and played significant roles in creating opportunities for others. The content series provided an opportunity to spotlight personal experiences of former Vikings players and coaches who encountered painful and uplifting moments.

The program continued last year and was highlighted when young people were invited to Winter Park for a deeply thoughtful and multigenerational program featuring Alan Page and Carl Eller, as well as Phil Loadholt, who became a member of the Vikings alumni when he retired prior to 2016 training camp.
