Vikings decline Andrew Sendejo's option as free agency dominoes start to fall

The Vikings began the process of addressing their tenuous salary cap situation on Monday morning, when they declined a 2019 team option on safety Andrew Sendejo worth $5.5 million.

The widely expected move, which makes the 31-year-old Sendejo a free agent, provides much-needed cap relief to a Vikings team that had just under $5 million in space entering Monday. It could be followed by a handful of other moves before the start of free agency on Wednesday, as the Vikings seek to clear enough cap space to bring back their own free agents and potentially help their offensive line with a free agent addition.
