MANKATO, Minn. -- Cullen Loeffler paused recently to add up all the time he has spent over the years at Vikings training camp.
"I think I've spent almost a year here in Mankato now," the long snapper said.
Loeffler is the team's longest-tenured player, having arrived at Minnesota State Mankato for his first camp in 2004. But whether he makes it to the start of a 12th season remains to be seen.
Kevin McDermott, 25, is competing with Loeffler, 34, for the long-snapping job in what Loeffler calls the most serious battle he's had since his rookie year.
