Vikings Announce Signing Of Tackle Jake Long

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Minnesota Vikings are expected to add to the depth on their offensive line by signing former No. 1 overall pick Jake Long, according to ESPN.

According ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team is expected to sign the 31-year-old four-time Pro Bowl lineman Tuesday.

ESPN sources say Long is willing to play for around the veteran minimum wage, which is $885,000 – prorated for 11 games remaining in the regular season.

The move will help bolster an offensive line that’s struggling to remain health. Both left tackle Matt Kalil (hip) and right tackle Andre Smith (right triceps) have been placed on the injured reserve.
