The aftermath of the Minnesota Vikings' humbling loss on Sunday to the Atlanta Falcons has included news that no fan wanted to hear. Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy suffered a high ankle sprain and is expected to be out 2-4 weeks.
In the meantime, it'll be backup quarterback Carson Wentz stepping in for the second-year pro. This certainly isn't a reality Vikings fans wanted to see unfold, especially so soon into McCarthy's first year starting after coming back from a torn MCL.
To make matters worse, head coach Kevin O'Connell revealed exactly when McCarthy's injury took place.
