Versatility is a hallmark of Vikings' draft class

It's probably OK if Trae Waynes plays just one position. As for most of the other players the Vikings took in the NFL draft, versatility is pivotal.

Minnesota selected 10 players in the seven-round draft, which ran Thursday through Saturday. General manager Rick Spielman generally looked for prospects who can play multiple positions.

"It just gives coaches that many more tools to work with and that many more opportunities to tweak things within the scheme,'' Spielman said.

Waynes was taken with the No. 11 pick in the first round out of Michigan State.
