Report: Austin Wentworth Retiring Due To Illness

Prior to their rookie camp this past weekend, the Minnesota Vikings waived five players, including two offensive linemen. One of them, tackle Antonio Richardson, went on to announce his retirement because of knee issues. Now, the other offensive lineman released that day is retiring with medical issues as well.

According to Chris Tomasson of the St. Paul Pioneer press, guard Austin Wentworth is ending his NFL career after one season due to an illness. The nature of the illness has not been disclosed, but it is said to have come up suddenly and that Wentworth says that he will be okay long-term.
