Well, training camp is shifting gears, preseason games are beginning soon, and we will soon have some real Vikings football action to watch, and later, to debate. Preseason games are fun to watch, and I particularly enjoy watching the battles for backup roles. This is where skills on special teams help some guys make the final 53, and some of these guys will find themselves thrust into starting roles during the season.
I don’t put a whole lot of stock on the W and L columns during the preseason, but I will be watching a few position groups, and will use their level of improvement as a barometer of the team’s success so far this preseason.
