EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — The Vikings suffered their third significant injury to a tackle this season on Sunday when Jake Long went down on Minnesota’s next-to-last offensive snap.
Head Coach Mike Zimmer said Long’s Achilles was injured, creating a need for the Vikings (5-4) to shift things again before hosting the Cardinals (4-4-1).
Matt Kalil, whom Long eventually replaced, was placed on injured reserve after suffering a hip injury in Week 2. Right tackle Andre Smith is also on injured reserve after suffering a triceps injury in Week 4.
