Quite often, the optimistic discussions about Minnesota’s upcoming cap flexibility get brought down by the inevitable, “Yeah, but there are going to be extensions for players like Justin Jefferson.”
To a certain extent, those qualifiers are true. After all, we’re discussing a historically great player in Jefferson, someone who has made a habit of re-writing records since entering the NFL in 2020. Keep in mind, though, that next year’s healthy $50.5 million in cap space already has #18 hitting the books with a cap hit coming in above $19.7 million.
