Ex-Vikings first-round pick just got a tough dose of reality

Former Minnesota first-round draft pick Cordarrelle Patterson took to social media on Monday to play the role of NFL insider and reveal that he has been released by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

"Breaking news u2757u2757u2757 Pittsburgh Steelers release old washed up cordarrelle patterson on his day off!!!"

Patterson still had a year left on the two-year, $6 million deal he signed with the Steelers in 2024, and with his release, Pittsburgh has freed up $2.8 million in cap space. With the Steelers last year, he appeared in 13 games and finished with only 215 total yards and one touchdown on 44 total touches, in addition to averaging a single-season career-low of 21.
