Denver Broncos, George Paton finalizing deal for GM job, source says

Broncos were searching for a GM after Broncos president of football operations John Elway relinquished his role as GM, ceding control of the roster. Elway said the new GM will control the draft, free agency and the roster.

Paton has been particularly choosy with general manager openings over the years. Last year following Kevin Stefanski's departure for Cleveland, Paton was a finalist for the Cleveland Browns' general manager position but pulled his name from contention on Jan.
