Charley Walters: Vikings' Mike Zimmer should get big raise

Mike Zimmer is in his second season as Vikings coach with an original contract believed to be worth $4 million annually for four years. It would be surprising if Vikings owner Zygi Wilf doesn't extend Zimmer's deal with a nice pay raise soon after the season.

Zimmer, who led the Vikings to the NFC North Division title, is 59. Pete Carroll, 64, who'll coach the Seattle Seahawks against the Vikings at noon on Sunday and has had his team in the last two Super Bowls, is in the second season of a three-year deal worth an estimated $8 million per season.
