EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. -- Even though they had an extra day of recovery before their first practice of the week, the Minnesota Vikings still began their preparations for the New York Giants without guard Alex Boone.

Boone, who sustained a hip injury during the team's 22-10 win over the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, departed after the team stretching period and did not practice Thursday. The Vikings were also without fullback Zach Line, tight end David Morgan and defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd, who is expected to miss several weeks after having surgery to remove cartilage from his right knee last week.
