Following the recent injury to Aaron Jones, so many within the Minnesota Vikings fan base kept bringing up and joking about running back Cam Akers making a return to the team for a third straight year. That's no longer a joke.
KSTP-TV first reported the news, which ESPN's Adam Schefter later confirmed on Tuesday, that the Vikings were bringing Akers back. Whether he will be on the active roster or on the practice squad is unknown.
This is the third stint for Akers in Minnesota after spending time in 2023 and 2024 with the Vikings.
