Should the Vikings Trade Adrian Peterson?

Not to worry Viking fans, AP is not going anywhere this season, with the trade deadline already having passed on Tuesday. However, there are some intriguing arguments in favor of moving the star running back.

1. First off, the mileage on Peterson is higher than most others at the same age. He is on pace to carry the ball for the 4000th time by his 32nd birthday. Only three other RB's have eclipsed that mark throughout their entire careers, Emmit Smith, Curtis Martin and Walter Payton. With Peterson's violent running style and that amount of wear and tear, he is poised to start breaking down much sooner than later.

2. The Vikings could get quite a deal. Not a Herschel Walker type haul, but significant. Trent Richardson was recently traded for a first round pick, and he is no where near Peterson's stature. A couple of firsts should be the least that the Vikes would bring in for AD.

3. Let's face it, the Vikings are not going anywhere anytime soon. Peterson deserves to be on a team that gives him a chance at his first ring.

Here's five reasons why the Vikings should not even entertain the idea of trading Purple Jesus.
