- Francisco Calvo played for Saprissa from 2015 to 2016. He made 71 competitive appearances for “La S,” scoring 13 goals and providing one assist.
- Minnesota United’s Johan Venegas is currently on loan to Saprissa. He has scored five times in 27 appearances en route to a Clausura title in the Liga FPD.
- Juan Gabriel Guzman, Michael Barrantes, Walter Cortes and Calvo are natives of San Jose, Costa Rica.
