U.S. Under 23 Men’s National Team head coach Jason Kreis has named the Loons’ second-year striker Mason Toye and rookie midfielder Hassani Dotson to the 24-player roster to face Japan on September 9 in Chula Vista, California. Toye and Dotson will join the team at the Chula Vista Elite Athlete Training Center following Minnesota United’s game against LAFC.
Twenty-year-old Toye has enjoyed a breakout season in his second year in MLS, scoring his first professional goal in the Round of 16 of the U.S Open Cup against reigning champion Houston Dynamo on June 18, and then scoring his first MLS goal in the Loons 7-1 rout of FC Cincinnati on June 29.
