Major League Soccer has announced the list of players available for selection in the 2017 expansion draft. Minnesota United participated in last year’s expansion draft, selecting Chris Duval, Collen Warner, Mohammed Saied, Jeff Attinella and Femi Hollinger-Janzen. Of that list, all but Collen Warner were traded away. This year’s expansion draft provides an opportunity for expansion club LAFC to select up to five players from the list of available players.
The 2017 Expansion Draft will take place Tuesday, Dec. 12, beginning at 1 p.m. CT. Generation Adidas and homegrown players are automatically exempt, meaning MNUFC can protect up to 11 players from selection in the Expansion Draft.
