ARLINGTON, Texas --Byron Buxton is coming to the big leagues.
Mired in a losing streak that appeared headed for five games on Saturday afternoon, the Twins will promote baseball's top prospect from Double-A Chattanooga. Buxton, 21, will join the club in time for Sunday's series finale against the Texas Rangers.
A corresponding roster move will be announced before Sunday's game.
A speedy center fielder who was the No. 2 overall pick in 2012, Buxton has put an injury-marred 2014 season behind him this year. His 12 triples led the Southern League, and he was batting .
