The Twins placed right-handed reliever Justin Topa on the 15-day injured list with a left oblique strain before yesterday's game between the Twins and Diamondbacks, the team announced. Right-handed reliever Cody Laweryson's contract was selected from Triple-A St. Paul as a corresponding move.
With just a couple of weeks left in the regular season, Topa will likely be out for the remainder of 2025. Topa, whom the Twins acquired along with right-handed pitcher Anthony DeSclafani, outfielder Gabriel Gonzalez and right-handed pitcher Darren Brown from the Seattle Mariners in exchange for Jorge Polanco in Jan.
